5 Steps to do before Career Fair

Career Fair is our biggest event of the YEAR with companies at 130+ booths coming to talk to Bauer students.

Here are 5 Steps you MUST take before you go to the Career Fair on Friday.

Be Resume Ready!

Hopefully, you were able to take advantage of the Resume event last week or in previous semesters. If not, be sure to check out the Bauer Resume formats (BBA) (MBA/MS) that are available on our website. It is a good idea to use this format because it was approved by employers. When they receive hundreds of resumes, our format makes it easier to find the information that they need to move you closer to your goal of getting hired.

Download the Career Fair Plus App.

Start doing your research now and planning your route around the Hilton using the Career Fair Plus app. The app includes a list of all the companies scheduled to come along with a map that you can mark with your favorites. Do not wander around the Career Fair! It is too big to go in without a plan.

Do your research!

You wouldn’t walk into a Stats Exam without studying, right? Then why would you forget to study where you want to work for your Internship or Full-Time Job? Research should be part of your plan and Bauer Career Gateway gives you access to tools to research the companies you are interested in.  Check out the resources under External Links on the homepage of Bauer Career Gateway.

Get your suit ready.

This is a Professional Dress event and students that are not dressed appropriately may be turned away. Navy or Charcoal suit is best and be sure to shine those shoes. For more information check out our posts on What to Wear and Frequently Asked Questions about Professional Dress.

Skip The Line

The Bauer Career Fair is a Bauer Exclusive event (Bauer Majors ONLY) so you must check in before you will be allowed into Career Fair. The line to check in can get long but you can get a wristband to #SkipTheLine by checking in early. Wristbands will be available Wednesday and Thursday at the Rockwell Career Center. Get your wristband early and show it at the door to #SkipTheLine at student check-in.
