The Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR) is responsible for fairly and efficiently collecting state tax revenues to fund public services, to regulate charitable gaming and the sale of alcoholic beverage and tobacco, and to support state agencies in the collection of overdue debts. Collectively, each program, unit, division and group work together to provide the core services to taxpayers of the State of Louisiana and stakeholders of the agency. LDR is comprised of the following groups: Tax Collection, Charitable Gaming, Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC), Debt Recovery and Louisiana Tax Free Shopping Commission.
The Customer Service Division is responsible for providing timely and accurate information to the taxpaying public and tax practitioners related to taxes and fees administered by the Louisiana Department of Revenue as set forth by the tax laws, rules and regulations and LDR policies. The responsibilities of this division include providing service via telephone calls through a call center, assisting taxpayers who require direct assistance via the Headquarters Office and maintaining and updating account information as it relates to names, addresses and other administrative issues.
ABOUT THIS POSITION:
The incumbent of this position is the in-house administrator of LDR’s Automatic Call Distributor (ACD) system known as "Touchpoint". This position plays a key role in managing the operations of the Call Center Section, which answers calls from taxpayers, tax practitioners, tax attorneys and stakeholders. The incumbent of this position will be responsible for coordinating and managing call volume and staffing as well as reporting production and performance statistics. The incumbent will also serve as an advisor to management in the area of strategic goal planning and performance delivery.
The specific duties are as follows:

Monitor the achievements of the section on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis for the purpose of budgeting, cost analysis, and performance review as well as to respond to information requests from LDR’s management, legislative offices, Division of Administration, Enghouse Systems, taxpayers and the general public.

Develop computer applications, spreadsheets or databases to track and maintain statistical data from various sources.

Maintain statistical data to be used in preparation of fiscal notes and budget requests.

Reviews schedules and call volume for potential challenges and recommends possible solutions.

Manages call volume via the real-time display wallboard and moves resources as necessary to ensure wait times

Research appropriate products and equipment that meet the requirements of Customer Service. Develops evaluation standards and evaluates products for purchase.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree plus three years of professional experience in administrative services, accounting, financial auditing, management analysis, tax enforcement, taxpayer assistance, tax collection, tax systems work, tax auditing, tax audit review, tax law, or tax accounting.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree.
Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:
A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of four years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 120 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
A master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Public Administration (MPA) will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Possession of designation as a Certified Public Accountant or CPA Inactive will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Possession of a current license to practice law in Louisiana will substitute for two years of the required experience.
NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.
