With a highly communicative and collaborative mindset, the Assistant Collegiate Marketing Manager for Primary Apparel Partnerships will primarily lead, manage, and develop the Hanesbrands Inc. expanding portfolio of collegiate Primary Apparel Management ( PAM) institutions, an $88M business. This self-motivated, results oriented Assistant Collegiate Marketing Manager will support the various HBI Campus brands including Champion, Gear for Sports, Alternative Apparel and Comfort Wash execute strategic market and customer business planning, customer growth partnerships, and key business analysis and tactical execution. As an Assistant Collegiate Marketing Manager, this role requires a strong sense of ownership and a highly visible commitment to developing and maintaining strong, cross-functional working relationships with key internal support departments including sales, brand, finance, licensing and merchandising.
Assistant Collegiate Marketing Manager will function as the liaison between HBIs 12 PAM School Partners and the business units, including Champion, Gear for Sports, Alternative Apparel and Comfort Wash brands.
Assistant Collegiate Marketing Manager will establish and cultivate strong, PAM school customer relationships through enhanced market and customer knowledge, customer engagement and vision for the shared business opportunity
This position should have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all PAM school agreements, including annual sales targets, royalty guarantees relevant to campus business , customer sales history, approved licensees, etc.
Role will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing monthly shipment data, share trends and financial performance for HBI brands and ADLs across each PAM school with monthly report out to brand teams, sales leads and senior management.
This includes working back with finance to track and communicate quarterly ADL shortfalls
In addition to financial tracking, the Assistant Collegiate Marketing Manager will drive development and execution of PAM school customer business plans, including marketing and promotional plans, key customer programs and initiatives
Responsible for owning and updating seasonal calendars and marketing plans for each school and reporting out to both sales and brand teams
Role will be responsible for managing $400k annual PAM marketing budget; including working back with schools and licensing to develop seasonal marketing plans based on each school’s allotted funds, executing those plans and managing overall spend.
Assistant Collegiate Marketing Manager will contribute in the preparation and execution of key customer presentations and business review materials including building powerpoint presentations, gathering financial data, etc for PAM school updates and touch base meetings
Will join licensing on weekly/monthly touch base calls with each school to discuss & update team on key initiatives
Some level of travel required for market research and customer visits
Bachelor Degree required; MBA preferred
5+ years of successful sales and sales management experience in the apparel industry
Keen attention to detail; strong multi-tasking capabilities.
Computer skills, including an advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
