As a Strategy Consultant at IBM, you will help reinvent businesses and industries by developing and utilizing specialized knowledge of industry-specific and cross-industry competitive strategies. You’ll manage complex components of an engagement, working closely with clients and their customers to understand their pain points. Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Business Strategy Consultant, you will design and deliver large-scale, enterprise transformation that spans IBM business units, functions, and geographies. You will work directly with senior internal clients to define business challenges, perform market research and analysis to identify opportunities, define success metrics, and design and deliver solutions for complex, enterprise-wide projects – all to enable growth and culture-changing outcomes.

7+ years of Strategy Consulting experience, designing, recommending and delivering strategies that accelerate enterprise transformation and culture change through clients, employees and IBM’s operating model
Expert at driving thought leadership for IBM’s executive audiences based on rich insights that are generated from market research conducted by the team
Expert at defining business problems and building actionable recommendations, including developing business case for change in a way that helps senior leaders prioritize actions/behaviors and manage decisions
Expert in leading the design and implementation of large-scale, enterprise-wide complex transformational initiatives by developing strategic plans and actionable recommendations
Exceptional written and oral communication and facilitation skills; must have outstanding presentation development and delivery skills with the ability to tailor messages for a variety of audiences
Decisive thought leader with ability to influence others at all levels – from C-suite executives to team members – to ensure sponsorship, adoption and advocacy throughout the project lifecycle
Adopt a data-driven and human-centric approach to designing and delivering business strategies, with an emphasis on the user experience
Expert in using Agile and Design Thinking methodologies to help accelerate enterprise transformation and culture change
Ability to shape our next generation of consulting talent by mentoring, motivating, coaching, facilitating diversity and inclusion and providing continuous feedback for team members
Ability to drive practice development initiatives including thought leadership, culture building, team engagement, community involvement, etc.
Skills and Qualifications
Maintain an outside-in mindset to challenge the status quo with demonstrated ability to conduct internal and external research to drive innovation and thought leadership
Growth minded to be able to innovate, experiment and analyze the unknown to ‘turn over rocks’ that help identify opportunities
Strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly and develop analytical frameworks, methodologies and tools
Acute business and financial acumen and understanding of enterprise transformation issues and challenges
Excellent managerial skills, leading teams and partnering with multiple lines of business
Excellent active listening skills
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Bachelor’s Degree required; and
7+ years of strategy or management consultant experience; or
5+ years working on internal enterprise transformation programs; AND
5+ years as a consultant working on transformative change.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Top-tier Consulting firm experience strongly preferred
Enterprise transformation experience
2+ years leading project teams as an inclusive leader; able to give and receive constructive feedback
