Colson Group USA is looking for a Product Marketing Manager in our St. Joseph, MI location. The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the most profitable plans to position and promote Colson Group’s global product offering. The employee will analyze internal and third party data to gather insights on key focus areas to develop and oversee campaigns that generate new profitable sales, while strengthening Colson Group’s brands/position. The employee will work with various internal departments (sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, quality) and external agencies to best translate and communicate the company/product total value to the designated target audience(s) while measuring and reporting on the results.
o Strategic marketing:
o Define and drive key vertical markets through identifying the top players and decision makers within the vertical.
o Research vertical market share and trends, seeking out growth opportunities, and measuring against Colson’s ability to compete.
o Develop communication campaigns and/or strategic business plans that drive growth and foster creative development for specific channels, products, and/or industries
o Generate customer and channel leads through research, customer visits, and trade show involvement
o Create/update marketing and sales tools to best position products, coordinating efforts with marketing communications team and external creative agencies to publish and distribute material
o Ensure global alignment on marketing initiatives
• Reporting and analytics:
o Provide monthly and quarterly sales and marketing reports with a focus on key insights and competitive information (pricing/testing results/SWOT)
o Consolidate and report on both domestic and international key business development initiatives
o Develop, consolidate and maintain market intelligence through market research, internal data analytics, third-party data analytics, and industry data trends
o Meet quarterly with the sales regions and sales leadership on key insights
o High level of analytical skills and ability to manage large databases efficiently.
o Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
o Knowledge of product marketing and project management tactics, practices, standards and processes as demonstrated through leading complex teams in a collaborative environment.
o Professional presentation skills and ability to articulate ideas and issues clearly, concisely and persuasively to a variety of audiences with cultural diversity. Background in design and copywriting is a plus.
o Ability to generate and interpret market research reports and analytics including primary and secondary, quantitative and qualitative.
o Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
o Ability to work independently with a highly proactive work style and hold themselves accountable for commitments.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Saleforce.com and Adobe Suite knowledge is a plus.
o Working knowledge of available digital communication channels to best serve campaign exposure and effectiveness
o Moderate travel required.
Education and/or Experience:
o Minimum of 5 year’s successful track record in marketing and/or marketing research in a business-to-business environment, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
o Bachelor Degree (BA or BS) required, MBA preferred.
