Business Partner – The Finance Manager is responsible for providing strategic business finance support to the Global Marketing Teams and externally to Alliance partners BMS, Merck, and Eli Lilly for Global Eliquis, Steglatro, and Tanezumab Collaborations respectively. The Finance Manager must establish effective working relationships with business partners and provide financial leadership, business consultation, and analytical support to the team. To be successful, the Finance Manager must analyze key business trends for the major markets and proactively identify and communicate issues, opportunities, and/or threats to the financial success of the brands and recommend potential solutions.
Global and Regional Support – The Finance Manager will provide key financial support including monthly and quarterly reporting of actual results including financial close accruals and other close items, forecasting and Operating Plan updates with Global Commercial teams, OID and expense management, and oversee, review, and provide final approval of the quarterly alliance management and financial true-ups/settlements process that the GFS Memphis Accounting team is now leading for Eliquis and Steglatro. Duties will also include monthly and quarterly reporting of consolidated BU actuals, BU forecasting and long-range planning, and opportunities to develop presentation materials for Biopharma Leadership Team and Finance Leadership Team. Furthermore, the Finance Manager will be responsible for performing ad-hoc financial analyses which could include profitability analyses for launch products in the CVMET early pipeline asset team, LOE impact analyses on established products, and Operating Baseline analyses for the Toviaz Pierre Fabre Collaboration that ends July 2022.
Expense Forecasting – The Finance Manager is responsible for developing multiple expense forecasts for each category including the Op Plan/budget. This requires collaboration with the Global and North America Finance Directors on key assumptions, drivers and trends.
Month/Quarter Close – The Finance Manager is responsible for key accounting activities required at period close. This includes recording expense and OID accruals, compensation assessments, SLA allocations and completing balance sheet reconciliations.
Reporting – The Finance Manager is responsible for tracking brand performance (monthly, and quarterly) as well as identifying and communicating key performance drivers to Brand and Finance management. This includes providing key financial updates to Monthly brand performance decks that will ultimately be presented to the Global President – Internal Medicine.
The Finance Manager will also be responsible for additional ad-hoc projects including certain reporting deliverables for the overall Internal Medicine Portfolio.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
MBA or CPA with 3-5 years in finance roles preferred
3-5 years of related business/financial experience
Strong Analytical and Excel skills required
Prior experience with Microsoft applications, SAP, and Mosaic also preferred
Demonstrates strong attention to detail and possesses strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
