This position reports directly to the SPG Engineering Business Unit CFO. In this role, the candidate will be expected to apply conceptual and practical financial expertise to establish and standardize business processes, address complex business problems, and drive investment decisions for profitable growth. As a key finance business partner, the candidate will anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and actively influence management with critical analysis and sound business advice. This role collaborates with various cross-functional organizations globally and requires the ability to provide solutions to complex problems.
We are actively recruiting Senior Financial Analyst, Opex/R&D!
Participates in and owns portions of the preparation of the annual operating plan, long-term strategic plan, quarterly forecasts and quarter-end financial reporting for investment portfolio and OPEX spending
Interfaces with senior management in the business unit to drive operating expense management and prioritization across the business unit
Leads and drives operating expense and Capex budgets by engaging with senior management in business, engineering and operations departments
Drives project / waterfall analyses and partners with operations & Center of Excellence spending analyst team to drive actual spending to targeted levels
Leads PRM analysis for BU and partners to ensure PRM data accuracy and timely
Provides value-add participation in the quarterly update of R&D program business case NPV models
Partners with BU executives on Engineering program decisions and execution to meet all financial metrics (Budget Targets, Capital Investments, and Opex spending)
Partners within finance counterparts to drive and implement best practices for financial tools and processes for financial cycles and analytical tools
Ensures data accuracy and helps management team develop and tell the story of the business unit using that information (forecasting/budgeting, financial close, balance sheet integrity)
Proven competencies in communication, financial analysis and working across functions with different levels of management to drive results
Eager to learn and understand the business to apply and establish standardized financial processes
Influencing – ability to impact decision within own organization, cross functionally and within different level of management by leveraging experience and competencies in financial analysis
Self-starter: able to maintain financial cycle deliverables, identify change and drive items to closure with limited management oversight
Curiosity to understand the drivers of top and bottom-line growth
3-5 years relevant experience
MBA a plus
Very strong Excel skills, including modeling
Strong systems capabilities, preferably with SAP BPC, tableau and PRM
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Interpersonal skills to engage with partners to understand key issues, develop recommendations and implement actions to improve the business result
Basic accounting knowledge
Data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus
