Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Your primary objectives will be two-fold: (1) Defining and shaping the financial success and efficacy of the Americas Channel Organization and (2) Supporting the financial management and growth of the Americas Core Organization
Here’s what you can expect from the role:
Within 30 days, you will have a good understanding the the Americas Core and Channel organizations – vision, priorities, structure, financial performance, tools and data sources
Within 90 days, you will develop a data-informed perspective of what it takes to get the Americas Channel to the next level – Phase 1: Benchmarking metrics, Investment and spend analysis, ROI, Insights-driven Business Reviews
Within 180 days, you will be driving more far-reaching transformative change within the Americas Channel Organization: Phase 2: Financial, strategic and organizational insights and alignment, partner profitability, channel incentives, comp and quota attainment, FP&A process and operational simplification, partner-driven pipeline, dashboarding
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Develop key leading and lagging metrics, dashboards and cadence
Drive MDF ROI
Deliver Channel investment and spend insights
Establish partner profitability and channel incentives effectiveness
Partner with Sales Ops to drive Channel comp and quota attainment analysis
Streamline Channel FP&A processes and financial operations
Evaluate and refine partner-driven pipeline and bookings
Support key AMER Channel strategic initiatives
Support of key AMER Core planning and FP&A initiatives
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
You will be reporting to the Director of AMER Sales Finance who oversees the AMER Core and Channel FP&A organizations. This is a lean, high-performing and high profile team that focuses on identifying and collaboratively driving initiatives that deliver the highest impact to the organization. As financial stewards of the Americas organization, we help identify opportunities, manage risk and ensure resource allocation is done wisely. We’re looking for someone who is self-driven yet humble, possesses strong business acumen and sense of ownership, and deals well with ambiguity yet with an equal knack at attention to detail. Fixed: this role is based out of VMware’s Reston, VA or Austin, TX office and open to candidates in the surrounding area.
