Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) has an opening for a Principal Specialist, Contracts within RMD’s Advanced Technology organization, which focuses on key pursuits as well as development efforts that serve as the growth engine and front of the business, critical to the future growth of RMD. The individual in this role will be part of a team of Contracts professionals supporting the Advanced Air Warfare Systems (AAWS), Advanced Enabling Technology (AET), and Integrated Kill Chain Architecture (IKCA) portfolios of programs, including competitive pursuits. The individual in this role will be the Contracts lead for the Counter Air-Science & Technologies (CAST) suite of programs, as well as provide support to proprietary efforts and pursuits.
This role includes analysis of Request for Proposals (RFP), proposal reviews and coordination, contract negotiation, estimate at completion (EAC) reviews, support of program management and execution reviews, Intellectual Property and investment strategy development, and general contract administration. Responsibilities include working closely with the Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Business/Estimating, and Supply Chain to construct, submit and negotiate pricing proposals; providing guidance to senior management regarding contractual and business issues; ensuring that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies; advising management of contractual rights and obligations and possible mitigation of contractual/program risks.
Please note that this role will be primarily on-site at RMD Tucson. There is flexibility for telecommuting initially, but please note that relocation to Tucson is expected within 3 months of acceptance.

5+ years applicable business-related experience [or an advanced degree with 2+ years’ experience.]
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Finance or related field
Prior experience with US Government or Defense Industry contracts
U.S Citizenship is required
Active Secret security clearance
Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and risk quantification
Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust
Experience working is a fast-paced environment, where prioritization is required to be effective
Proven record of responsiveness with strong time management and organization skills
Contractual acumen with proficiency in contracts fundamentals
Related contract administration experience including hands-on proposal preparation and contract negotiations with the US Department of Defense (DoD)
Experience with US Government and US Prime Contractor customers as well as end-user communities in the development and acquisition of major systems
Familiarity with Other Transaction Agreements, Intellectual Property, license agreements, or teaming agreements
Juris Doctor or MBA a plus
