We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Manager.
The Institute for Excellence in Health Equity (IEHE) is seeking a Manager to facilitate the comprehensive mission of IEHE across three (3) of its four (4) pillars. In this role, the successful candidate will assist IEHE Pillar Leads in Research, Medical Education, and Clinical Systems in navigating the pillars to collectively impact national policy in health equity while developing mentorship and leadership programs relevant to each pillars goals with the objective of advancing the next generation of both URiM and non-URiM professionals focused on advancing excellence in health equity. The Manager will facilitate proactive communication and tasks (outputs) within the specified pillars of the institute as well as external collaborators and partners of IEHE. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the NYULH/NYUGSOM stakeholders, systems, and processes.
General focus: Assist IEHE Executive Director and Research, Medical Education, and Clinical Systems Pillar Leads in developing the strategy and operations required to execute IEHE’s mission and goals specific to those pillars.
Resource management: ensure Research, Medical Education, and Clinical Systems Pillars have appropriate resources and direction to achieve their specific and collective objectives.
Project management: oversee monitoring individual project work plans. Continually assess progress toward achieving project goals and production of deliverables.
Staff allocation: At direction of IEHE Executive Director, assist with the selection and onboarding of staff as well as providing direction as needed.
Fiscal oversight: assist with development and monitoring of budgets as needed.
Communication: In collaboration with IEHE Director, IEHE Executive Director, IEHE Pillar Leads, and NYULH Corporate Partners, develop, implement, and sustain a comprehensive internal and external communication plan.
Organizational tools: provide insight and serve as subject matter expert in organizational tools and software applications to harmonize and standardize project management, coordination, and tracking.
Participates in the planning, preparation, and organization of projects and programs for IEHE Pillar Leads for Research, Medical Education, and Clinical Systems.
Facilitate strategy, brainstorming and planning sessions with stakeholders and leaders representing Research, Medical Education, and Clinical Systems pillars of the institute.
As needed, assist in the development of training materials, educational curriculum, database management, and other system resources for IEHE.
Coordinate special technical trainings relative to program (e.g., statistical software)
As needed, prepare and develop reports of findings/data and provide recommendations.
Review and generate status/progress reports for ongoing and pending projects, including but not limited to letters, memos, agendas, and presentations.
General / Other
Provide daily updates on all projects and initiatives to IEHE Executive Director to include in IEHE daily updates to the IEHE Director.
Per request, execute, lead, and/or assist with special projects or assignments including but not limited to Research, Medical Education, Clinical Systems, and Community Engagement.
Be prepared and able to present on IEHE and its pillars and IEHE overall objectives as needed.
To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health care administration or related field.
Minimum of four years of progressively responsible related experience including program/project coordination or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook.
Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills.
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to multi task and project manage.
Graduate degree or equivalent (i.e. MS, MA, MBA, MPH, PhD, etc.)
Five (5) years of experience managing research administration; experience in managing multi-site, multi-stakeholder projects.
Two (2) years of direct staff management and supervision.
Advanced/Expert in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communications and people skills; well organized.
Flexible, adaptable, and ability to adjust in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
PROSCI Change Management Certified / PMP Certified
Experience in advancing health equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt or higher.
Experience with database design and administration.
Proficiency in statistical, data analysis, and ERP software such as R Studio, Stata, Minitab, Tableau, PeopleSoft, etc.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
