To complement Azure’s capability as a horizontal platform, we are accelerating our focus on expanding our Azure presence across the globe, and, to support this growth strategy, the Global Expansion and Transformation (GET) Team is hiring a Business Manager.
The individual will be critical member of the Office of the CVP (OCVP), reporting into the Chief of Staff. As a key partner to the CVP, the individual will hold larger accountability of the end to end business rhythm and support on a number of key strategic initiatives and projects. The Business Manager will be a key and strategic partner across the business, become a trusted advisor and business partner to the broader Industry team operating at highest levels of the company
There are three primary areas of responsibility:
Rhythm of the Business:
Lead the team through all of the major annual Azure Global & Company milestones and Rhythm of the Business (ROB).
Act as the connection point with critical GET stakeholders, including Azure Global.
Analyze business performance, customer insights and help the lead “see around corners”.
Manage the team full P&L including headcount management to assess and predict performance is in line with targets.
Strategy and planning:
Partner with the XLT to define and codify short-term and long-term strategy through set instruments such as LRP.
Support organizational leaders to define and track Objective & Key Results aligned to Azure GET org priorities.
Ensure headcount and investments are aligned to key priorities.
CVP Leader Support & Engagement:
Manage the CVP RoB internal & externally – including briefings, travel planning & trip reports, OneNote/collab tools maintenance
Drive a weekly sync with members of the extended OCVP to accelerate decision making and anticipate RoB needs and focus areas
Lead customer & partner follow-up process post internal and external engagements
Manage and drive stakeholder map
Participate and/or lead strategic initiatives aligned to the team’s charter and organizational outcomes
5+ years of related business management or finance or program management experience.
Customer-, Market-, Field-focused – a strong desire to serve and make others successful
Excellent skills in all aspects of planning, cross-group collaboration, communications, analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
Passion and proven record for execution with measurable results; focus on delivering impact.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, innovation, and the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead cross group/functional teams with a high degree of independence and success
Ability to work successfully across a complex, highly-matrixed environment
Ability to deal with ambiguity, navigate uncertain situations, and drive for clarity
Demonstrated strong capability in verbal and written communications skills across a geographically dispersed audience
Excellence and experience in managing P&L and all aspects of budget planning
Deep understanding of Microsoft’s rhythm and processes including key Azure operating mechanism (financials, OKRs, customer insights)Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Science discipline, with MBA/Masters preferred
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
