Position Specific Description
Business Management is seeking a Senior Business Management Analyst to work on energy storage and renewable initiatives. As part of this team, the Analyst will support the P&L management of NextEra Energy Resources’ growing energy storage portfolio, perform energy storage on-boarding activities, and support wind repower project investment decisions and early stage development activities. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for ad hoc projects/report development, financial modeling, document management, regulatory analysis, market analysis, and other miscellaneous projects. The individual will work closely with many business units including Power Generation Division, NextEra Energy Analytics, Development, Engineering and Construction, and NextEra Energy Marketing as well as finance and accounting subject matter experts. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for effective communication and collaboration with external customers.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in technical and/or financial analysis, preferably in the renewables industry. The Senior Business Management Analyst must be comfortable working collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and be able to proactively identify and champion areas of focus, based on their analysis. Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively develop management presentations are critical in the role. Ideal candidates will have an MBA, Master of Finance, and/or hold the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
Job Overview
Employees in this role support the overall P and L management of one or more NextEra generating assets. Individuals review findings to be presented to senior management. This position supports budgeting and forecasting, analyzing P and L variance, participating in ad hoc and special projects and coordinates with other business units regarding initiatives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Completes complex financial, operational, or technical project analysis
Conducts analyses regarding issues that have an impact on the operation of a specific functional area and makes recommendations to management
Leads medium to large project teams that support informed decision making within the business unit
Maintains project schedules and reviews team member input and documents for technical accuracy
Performs ad hoc projects, report development, modeling, and other miscellaneous projects
Oversees discretionary capital improvement or restructuring projects for generating assets
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience: 5+ years
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
