Black Bear Transmission LLC (BBT) transports and delivers natural gas from various pipeline receipt points to power generation, industrial and utility customers in the Southeast United States. The company includes eight regulated natural gas pipelines stretching more than 1,200 miles with total delivery capacity of more than 1.8 Bcf/d. The pipelines are connected to 12 major long-haul pipelines, ensuring reliable gas supply to customers across Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Black Bear Transmission is headquartered in Houston.
Beginning with its inception in late 2019, BBT has grown through acquisition, completing two major purchases in 2020. Due to this expansion, we have identified a need for a Senior Analyst to grow with the company as we continue our expected expansion.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Expected to understand our enterprise structure and underlying businesses; be familiar with each project’s operations, financing structure, risks and issues; and have a thorough understanding of the underlying financial analysis of the company (e.g. Business Plan, risks/opportunities, etc.)
Must be a proactive individual who accepts responsibility and identifies areas for value.
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Excellent written and oral communication skills conducive to working with senior management, shareholders, banks, institutional investors, and other external parties.
Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Finance, Accounting, Engineering, etc.
Postgraduate degrees (MBA / MFin / etc) or professional credential (CFA / CPA / etc) are a plus but not required.
2 – 5 years of corporate finance, commercial/investment banking and/or financial planning and analysis experience.
The Senior Analyst is a critical position on the Black Bear Transmission team with responsibility for adding value by managing key financial planning, corporate finance and commercial tasks
Main responsibility will be to lead financial planning and analysis for an operating portfolio of 14 regulated natural gas pipelines
In addition, the Senior Analyst will be expected to assist with activities including corporate debt reporting, credit risk management compliance, and commercial activities
Expected to have a deep understanding of our corporate liquidity model and management of our corporate financing documents/DSCR calculations; thorough understanding of the underlying information, including risks and issues, to support these areas.
