The Corporate FP&A team is responsible for partnering with Overstock leadership on financial related aspects of the business. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the budget and forecast process, providing monthly performance reporting, assisting with financial data mining, and leading numerous ad hoc analyses for Senior Leadership, the Board of Directors, and other business partners. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of Overstock Retail, Medici Ventures, and tZero.
Develops and produces high quality analytics and presentation materials for Senior Leadership, Board of Directors, and other business partners
Financial data mining, modeling and analytics to identify strategic opportunities, support new initiatives, and measure progress on critical organizational goals
Ensures timely and accurate reporting including variances to annual operating plan, forecasts, and prior year performance
Provides analytical support on various special projects to help inform important financial decisions
Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key data is accurate and timely
Participate in annual planning and monthly forecasting processes
Serve as a strategic partner to leaders throughout the organization
3+ years relevant FP&A related work experience.
Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, as well as other Office products.
Experience with relational databases (SQL, Microsoft Access, etc.).
Familiarity with Online and Digital Marketing preferred
Ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and communicate resulting strategy changes to audiences at all levels
Strategic skills required to conceptualize, communicate, and execute weekly, monthly and annual deliverables
Experience working with large-scale data reporting tools such as SQL, Hyperion planning (Essbase), Oracle ERP, Business Intelligence Tools, and other database management systems
Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to find creative solutions and manage to end result
Strong written and oral communicative skills with demonstrated ability to operate effectively at all levels within a dynamic organization
Flexible team player willing to take on additional responsibility and work to meet deadlines
Strong time management skills and effectively able to prioritize tasks as needed
Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced work environment
An undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Marketing (with an analytic focus)
Degrees in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or other quantitative fields with relevant business experience also considered
MBA or other advanced degree preferred
