AIG Treasury is a global organization within the Finance division of AIG. We have offices in New York City, Houston, London, Dublin, Japan, and India. In addition to Corporate Strategy, Investor Relations, Rating Agency, and Bank Relations, AIG Treasury’s primary business functions include cash flow forecasting & funding, investing & borrowing, capital & liquidity management, analytics & metrics reporting to measure, monitor, and mitigate liquidity, foreign exchange, and counter-party credit risk.
The Life & Retirement (L&R) Treasury team, primarily based in Houston, is responsible for managing all aspects of Treasury functions for the Life & Retirement business. The L&R Treasury team is searching for a Treasury Associate who has a strong Finance and Treasury background, preferably with prior work experience in the Insurance and Financial Services Industries. Successful candidates for this role are self-starters with a balanced backgrounds of analytical skills, math/ business major, and strong soft skills in both written and verbal communications.
Your Contribution At AIG
AIG Treasury is seeking a Treasury Associate to work as an integral member of the L&R Treasury team. In this role, the new hire will be responsible for performing all the day to day activities encompassing the following in addition to ad-hoc initiatives/ projects resolving forecasting, investing, borrowing, and FX.
Primary responsibilities include:
Prepare, review, and analyze the day’s cash balances and projected flows to appropriately allocate cash with high yielding banks while keeping exposure within Credit’s guideline.
Review and analyze cash flow forecasts and in-flight strategic plans to determine investing or financing strategies working with the Global Capital Markets and Asset Management teams.
Track and analyze key market performance to projected derivative collateral movements
Measure, monitor, and report liquidity management at AIG Life & Retirement and its subsidiaries, including developing liquidity risk modeling, long-term cash flow forecast modeling, and stress-testing activities.
Interface with Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Actuarial, Capital Planning, Tax, Investments and coordinate with individuals in the various L&R businesses to provide timely and accurate cash flow forecasts for liquidity management.
Assist in the development and documentation of liability measurement modeling, data compilation and analysis, including but not limited to measuring unencumbered high-quality collateral, for pro forma cash flow analysis for liquidity measurement, monitoring, and risk reporting.
Monitor and document ongoing compliance with L&R and Global Treasury policies.
Aggregate, review, and distribute key risk analytic reports related to liquidity, cash flows, and insurance portfolio to Treasury senior management and L&R business partners.
Prepare material and presentations for senior management, Board of Directors, and regulators.
What We Are Looking For
Undergraduate degree required. MBA or advance degree preferred.
Broad experience in Finance, Treasury, and Risk Management in an Insurance (preferably Life & Retirement) or financial firm.
Demonstrate understanding of corporate finance, investments, and accounting.
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure, maintain strong attention to detail and prioritize work within tight deadlines.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills (financial modeling is a plus) and a high level of intellectual curiosity.
Self-starter, quick-learner and flexible team-player.
Demonstrate professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
Preferred technical skills with an advanced knowledge of:
MS Office Suite (particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).
Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
QueryTools (specifically MicroStrategy and Bloomberg).
