2021 Experiential Internship – Imbruvica Market Research
Oncology is a key therapeutic area for AbbVie, with a portfolio consisting of three marketed products and a pipeline containing multiple promising new molecules that are being studied in more than 200 clinical trials for over 20 different types of cancer.
More than 1,200 AbbVie research scientists, clinicians, marketing, operations, and corporate professionals work in the San Francisco Bay Area. They combine their expertise in immuno-oncology, stem cells, and cell-signaling with their knowledge of bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and covalent-inhibitor technologies to discover and develop novel cancer treatments. Together, we are striving to outsmart cancer.
This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in healthcare or the pharma/biotech industry, and who aspire to make a remarkable impact in the lives of patients with cancer. The intern will support various market research initiatives for Imbruvica.
Develop key performance initiatives based on business needs.
Conduct market assessment and competitor assessments.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to support marketing initiatives.
Develop presentations that reflect answers to key business questions.
Provide a fresh perspective on ways to increase efficiencies and collaboration with stakeholders.
Perform market analysis and research on competition.
Support the market research team in daily administrative and ad hoc tasks.
Must have strong strategic and analytical skills.
Must have strong written and interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various levels/grades within the organization.
Strong presentation skills preferred.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment with concurrent or conflicting deadlines.
Ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment as needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Excellent organization skills and close attention to detail.
Must be currently pursuing a Masters, MBA, PharmD, or PhD degree.
Minimum GPA = 3.0/4.0
Returning to university for at least one semester and graduating within one-year post internship
Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e., extracurricular activities or projects)
Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship.
