Sr. Manager eCommerce Strategy & Capability
This role can be based in any location – fully remote
The primary responsibility of this position is to not only be an eCommerce evangelist across the organization, but to also develop the tools and capabilities needed to propel the Campbell Snacks organization to become a best-in-class eCommerce practitioner. This role will leverage digital and eCommerce capabilities to enable growth for Campbell Snacks. This role requires developing relationships across functions within Campbell Snacks and influencing internally to drive a digital first mentality when it comes to technology, tools, and processes required to advance the Division’s eCommerce objectives. This role will also be responsible for owning “3rd party platforms” like Instacart, that drive eCommerce sales, but don’t operate as a direct retailer. This person needs to be a pioneer and innovator when it comes to identifying new capabilities to drive more efficiency and scale across the landscape of retailers. This role will establish relationships with digital and eCommerce leads and top retailers to ensure that we are viewed as thought leaders and partners in their digital & eCommerce transformation efforts. The person who takes on this challenge will need to be comfortable with ambiguity and are energized by continuously evolving their thinking and approach in the fast-paced world of digital and eCommerce.
eCommerce Strategy and Insights
Provides the eCommerce Situation Assessment and is a key stakeholder in the assessment stages to drive digital insights and key learnings into the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Process for Marketing and Sales.
Leads and conducts marketplace assessment and benchmarking to understand how the company is performing in eCommerce opportunities versus peer companies and best-in-class eCommerce practitioners.
Leads Strategic initiatives and pilots tests & learns with new partners and capabilities in the eCommerce space. Deploys this learning in AOPs and other “best practice” share outs.
Gathers requests for new digital capabilities, insights and technologies and prioritizes with cross-functional input across channels and retailers.
Leads the acquisition of new data sources for managing and measuring the digital business including digital shelf, marketing effectiveness, sales and share data. Integrates new data and insights into current Campbell Snacks tools and technologies for efficient and effective utilization across the organization.
Responsible for owning the relationships with eCommerce-enabling agency partners – analytics, technology, tools and other 3rd party retail partners.
Collaborates with Shopper Insights team in building insights on the digital consumer path to purchase across priority retailers to inform retailer.com strategies and engagement.
Represents Campbell Snacks eCommerce at key account meetings as needed to support Field Sales.
Identify eCommerce skill and knowledge gaps within Campbell Snacks organization and develop and execute learning agenda to increase organization’s eCommerce IQ across multiple disciplines, functions and levels.
Embed eCommerce thinking within sales and marketing processes including AOP and customer Joint Business Planning and Commercialization.
Develop multi-year eCommerce capabilities roadmap and investment required in alignment with 3-year strategic planning horizon.
Collaborate with IT partners and Procurement on 3rd party data decisions including selecting, contracting and maintaining partners and agencies. This includes staying current the latest eCommerce data and solution providers.
Stay abreast of retailer-specific eCommerce data and digital shelf capabilities and requirements and determine how to leverage within eCommerce tool sets and playbooks.
Defines eCommerce playbooks across marketing and sales to deliver against eCommerce & Digital KPIs.
Data & Analytics Strategy
Lead the development of the data and analytics strategy and roadmap for Campbell Snacks with collaboration and support from IT, Sales, and Category management functions.
Leads the development and future iterations of Campbell Snacks eCommerce Sales, Marketing and Digital Shelf scorecard. This scorecard serves as the centralized tracker of sales and digital KPIs (i.e. Sales, Share, Share of Search, etc.) across key retailers and brands is deployed to key internal cross-functional stakeholders on a regular cadence.
Develop specific action plans to drive progress across defined eCommerce and Digital KPI’s.
Develop standards and best practices for data sourcing from retailers in order to improve efficiency.
Assist in the AOP process to help senior stakeholders engage with a ‘digital first’ strategy.
Assist in the annual planning process by developing reporting that provides reporting needed by stakeholders (inclusive of Brand, Field Sales and Sales HQ teams) the data needed for completing the planning process.
Facilitate the usage of data through monthly team reporting, leadership updates, and annual planning processes.
Requires cross-functional interaction within the customer team (e.g., Finance, Category Management, Customer Marketing, etc.) as well as with Campbell Snacks Headquarter personnel (e.g., Integrated Marketing, Joint Business Planning, Brand Management, etc.)
Requires strong understanding of and experience with P&L management
Ability to develop talent and lead teams to achieve objectives

Ability to precisely and proficiently conduct business and data analyses with data driven recommendations
Ability to influence multiple levels within Campbell Snacks and customer orgs
Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree. MBA Preferred.
Travel requirements: 30 %
Years of relevant experience: 10+ years ideally in CPG Sales or Marketing, with at least 3 years in eCommerce and digital capability role(s). People management experience preferred.
