Location 55104, MN Job Type Graduate Assistant Department Resident Life Job Number 430002-0204 Description The Graduate Residence Hall Coordinator position manages the operations, behavior, development, and interactions within one of the four residence halls on Concordia’s campus. This position is responsible for the supervision of student staff members, the monitoring of interpersonal complications between roommates, the facilitation of required conversations, and the management of programming and event planning. The position will oversee a Residence Life collateral assignment. The Residence Hall Coordinator serves in an on-call rotation for crisis and high-need situations. Essential Duties Supervision – Supervising Resident Assistants/student staff, aid in the development of students living on campus, facilitate meetings and on-on-one meetings Programming/Event Management – Coordinating Residence Life events – programs, RA Selection, RA Training, Housing Selection, Admitted Student Day, housing assignments, move-in day, serving in on-call rotation Crisis Response – Serve on an on-call response rotation and responding to incident that occur on campus and in the residence halls Administrative – Submitting and updating documents (condition reports, maintenance requests, room reservations, programming forms, incident reports, weekly reports) Collateral Assignments (include but are not limited to) – Intramural Sports coordinator, summer housing coordinator, training committees, educational week involvement, front desk supervision, living learning communities, and other residence life committee assignments Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree Required. Accepted into a CSP Master’s program (Graduate Assistant) or another University’s Master’s program (Graduate Intern). CSP programs include – Educational Leadership, Leadership and Management, MBA, Strategic Communication Management, Criminal Justice Leadership, Human Services – Forensic Behavioral Health, or other related degree program. Preferred Experience: Resident Assistant and Residence Hall living experience. Required Experience working with students on a college campus Written and Oral Communication (experience with Google operating system) Ability to work with students from different backgrounds, races, ethnicities, classes, genders Additional Information: Exceptions: GAs are expected to follow the curriculum lay-out as described in the program (this generally would be taking one course every seven-weeks). Any exception to this must be requested and approved by the Director of Residence Life, Human Resources, and the academic department advisor prior to registration.
