D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Financial Services Intern for their Processing Department. The right candidate will assist the Loan Processing Managers and support staff with the management of all functions of the Processing department. Learn the needs and methods in the Processing department within the company, support company policies and standards, suggest improvements within the system, and execute policies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
The intern will also be encouraged to explore other areas of interest to learn more about the general operations of the company; vision both within and outside of the assigned department that will be supplemental to the learning experience.
This is a rotational internship in which the intern will spend the majority of their summer within our Processing department, but they will also rotate for a few days to three additional departments such as Origination, Title, and Construction (for example) to gain a well rounded view of the Residential Construction/Mortgage Industry. By the end of the internship a Financial Services Intern will have had exposure to how to review file for correct stacking order, AU findings for initial determination and appropriate documentation, review Loan Officer’s “needs list”, re-review documentation in file, input any changes into the computer systems and re-run for a correct AU determination, print a “credit package”, submit files to Underwriting, review conditions, provide loan status, maintain accurate communication log and update LOS comments.
Education and/or Experience
Must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and seeking a degree in a related field
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
Proficiency with MS Office and email
