Summary This position is in the Office of Mission Support, Office of Administration and Resource Management – Research Triangle Park (RTP), Human Resources Management Division – RTP. About OMS:https://www.epa.gov/aboutepa/about-office-mission-support Responsibilities At the entry level of this position, you will: Work with higher graded specialists to provide advisory and support services for multiple organizations across the Agency; Research and/or analyze legislative, regulatory and Agency policy guidance in the area of recruitment and placement, classification, benefits, or labor and employee relations; With guidance/oversight from higher graded specialists, evaluate customer needs and recognize potential program issues and/or trends; Participate on projects which contribute to innovation, standardization and/or streamlining of human resources services. When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. NOTE: Career ladder promotions are not automatic, and all eligibility and qualifications requirements must be met in order to progress to the next grade level. One or more positions may be filled. You must be a U.S. citizen. You may be required to travel less than 25% of each month. This position is designated as Moderate Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation. You must meet time in grade requirements no later than 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement. If you are selected, you may be required to complete a one-year probationary period. Qualifications We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below: To qualify for the GS-07 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-05 level defined as analyzing and/or interpreting rules, regulations, or procedures to carry out projects or solve issues;- OR 1 full year of graduate level education; or superior academic achievement (Superior Academic Achievement Definition) degree in an academic discipline related to this position- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. To qualify for the GS-09 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-07 level defined as processing personnel actions in accordance with federal human resources rules, regulations and/or procedures; and communicating with customers on pay setting, processing personnel actions, the development of position descriptions, job analyses and/or vacancy announcements; – OR master’s or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; degree in an academic discipline related to this position- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
