Job Description Summary
Building and managing GE Licensing equity portfolio business plans and transactions. This role will support the Business Development leader and related account managers in optimizing the results and outcome of GEL’s equity portfolio. This role will also support the Business Development leader and vertical leaders in the business acceleration process, which involves leveraging GE technology, resources and market access with external partnerships to potentially develop equity partnerships and positions. Role will involve extensive market analysis, developing strategies for growth, identifying ideal potential partners for a given transaction opportunity, and interfacing with external partners to negotiate and execute transactions.
GE Licensing (GEL) monetizes GE technologies and intellectual property (IP) globally via creative commercialization structures ranging from Licensing to new venture creation, in partnership with GE Business units. This includes driving technology and program evaluation, complex financial models, market/business models, commercial deal structuring and managing/optimizing the relationship for value creation. It may also include negotiation and execution; including post deal obligations and growth. In this role, emphasis will be on developing and executing new venture creation, business acceleration, go-to-market strategies with external partners, deal and program/team structuring, supporting negotiation and program management; taking into account business constraints including GE business unit goals, market requirements, IP encumbrances, regulatory, compliance, labor, trade controls and product strategies.
The role will bring direct financial and strategic value to GE; leading in building a culture of integrity, while pushing business boundaries.
Assist the Business Development leader in identifying appropriate business acceleration candidates through modeling, market analysis, deal preparation, negotiation, execution, and post-transaction, portfolio management. Engage with existing portfolio companies to oversee investments and develop strategic options, where appropriate. Assist in the management of the equity portfolio management process. Engage with cross-functional teams in all aspects of portfolio and deal management.

Student in Masters of Business, MBA, JD or similar program with a desired career involving strategy, corporate development, innovation, or entrepreneurship.

Ability and willingness to work in Pacific time zone business hours.

Experience b u il d i n g financial models, conducting market analysis, analyzing product/market opportunities, equity financing, valuation and program management .
Demonstrated interest in innovation, technology, venture capital, entrepreneurship.
