Green Beetz is seeking summer intern to assist in developing a comprehensive “style guide” for the non-profit including preferred color templates, and other digital assets to be used for branded assets including website, PPT decks, invitations, and other printed documents. The position will be remote, and hours and timing is flexible based on the availability of successful candidate.
Background on Green Beetz
Green Beetz is a non-profit with the mission of “Preparing youth for a healthy and sustainable future.” Green Beetz provides educators with a ready-to-teach curriculum and a distance learning bite-sized online program for 4th-7th graders about the modern food system, nutrition, and sustainability.
Green Beetz is a comprehensive, STEM –based and Common Core Aligned curriculum that includes videos, interactive activities, and take-home projects. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Green Beetz program was adapted to an online, digital curriculum called Green Beetz Direct. The curriculum is broken up into four modules – Food and the Environment, Food and the Body, The Big Business of Food, and Cooking and Culture of Food.
Role of the Design Intern
The intern will work closely with the Green Beetz team to consolidate existing digital art assets, and develop new assets where necessary. Green Beetz is looking for an undergraduate or graduate level art student, with a background in graphic design and experience in all relevant design programs.
Well-qualified candidates will also ideally possess:
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate design program, ideally with focus on graphic design.
- Interest in Green Beetz mission – passion for nutrition, sustainability, and urban education.]
- Team-player, someone who enjoys working with others in a highly collaborative environment.
- Portfolio of design work that is aligned with the design preferences of the Green Beetz team.
