Harper & Pearson Company was founded in 1962 and celebrates 58 years in business this year, located in the Galleria Area. Harper & Pearson is a mid-market, full-service CPA Firm with under 100 employees. Our client base is mostly local as we have a long-standing reputation in the Houston area and our clients range from financial institutions, to healthcare, non-profit/government, private equity, audit & assurance, consulting & outsourcing, entrepreneurial advisory, forensics & litigation accounting, tax employee benefit plan audits, high net worth individuals and everything in between.
We grow our staff by offering the most comprehensive internship program offered in Houston for both audit and tax Interns, and only bring in the amount of audit/tax Interns each year that we intend to hire for full-time positions upon graduation. Thus, we are not bringing in 30 Interns each Spring when we intend to hire 10. We take the internship program seriously and we have staff dedicated to working side by side with our Interns. We allow our Interns to work on audit or tax projects from start to finish, so they experience exactly what it is like to be a staff employee at a public accounting firm.
Our Interns are treated and paid as Staff level employees and we are very proud of the success of our internship program, as our entry level employees all come from the internship program. We also pay straight time overtime for every hour worked at not only the Intern level, but at the Staff and Senior levels as well. So you are paid for all hours worked whether you choose to have it as paid time off, or have it deposited in your bank account, or a combination of both…it’s your money, therefore, it’s your decision! We are one of the only firms in Houston who pay overtime for Interns, full-time Staff and at the Senior level as well!! And….we offer an Intern signing bonus. We try to remain full-staffed to help promote work-life balance, and promotions are performance based, which means you are promoted when you are ready for more difficult engagements.

We are looking for an Audit Intern for Spring 2022, with full-time employment potential upon successful internship completion. These internships qualify for class credit and are hourly paid positions.
Requirements for Interns:
1. 3.25 GPA Minimum
2. Completed/will be completing Intermediate Accounting 2 by internship start date
3. Will be CPA eligible upon graduation
a. Preferred Master’s program (150 hours)
b. Can be Bachelors, as long as, planning to be continuing on to receive Masters or taking the additional 30 hours to be eligible to sit for CPA exam.
