The Denials Operations Analyst is responsible for coordinating the resolution and escalation of denied claims by enforcing contract, federal and state regulations. Position will conduct analysis of finalized denials to identify trends and root causes. He/She will work with Parallon Executive Management to incorporate findings into process improvement initiatives, training opportunities and maintenance of quality assurance.
Duties (included but not limited to):
Resolves denied claims that have finalized the traditional appeal process and pursues for payment.
Uncovers root causes, process improvement opportunities and packages communication/feedback to field operations.
Collaborates professionally with all internal and external business partners.
Performs appeals process quality assurance reviews.
Articulates contract provisions, claims billing considerations, state and federal regulations to insurance company representatives.
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills for generating effective exchanges via telephone or correspondence.
Escalates issues to group council and physician advisor as necessary.
Builds a strong understanding of Parallon revenue cycle operations, including business processes, tools, and technologies.
Exhibits technical aptitude and advanced experience with data tools, such as Business Objects, Essbase, and SQL.
Displays strong critical thinking skills with ability to identify patters and trends.
Promotes efficiency and repeatability of reporting and analytical tasks, including documentation and automation as appropriate.
Communicates regularly with Shared Service Center and other field executives to ensure smooth data collection and reporting processes.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience.
Revenue Cycle experience preferred.
HCA-based system experience preferred.
Strong technical skills and knowledge of Business objects, Essbase, SQL, and relational databases.
