Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university required.
Minimum of one (1) year full-time experience in advertising, media, marketing or related field in the sports industry required.
Experience in copywriting and copyediting required.
Fluency in Spanish preferred.
Proven ability to think creatively and to provide meaningful input in the development of innovative marketing and promotional plans.
Proven ability to apply working knowledge of creative writing, copywriting and copyediting skills.
Decision-making capability on routine matters such as promotional messaging, branding matters and contract fulfillment.
Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple diverse tasks with multiple deadlines in a high-energy environment.
Ability to maintain attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure and within deadlines.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work effectively in a high-energy, competitive, high-profile environment and industry.
Display strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.

Basic Function: Responsible for executing and supporting Houston Texans (“Club”) marketing, promotional and branding initiatives.
Job Function (duties and responsibilities):
Provide significant input on marketing matters such as, but not limited to, Club marketing, promotional, branding and staffing needs.
Collaborate on marketing and promotional plans with Marketing Coordinator to reach designated goals, with duties to include executing all promotional messaging utilizing assets, including but not limited to, Club website, Texans Radio, Texans TV, database, marquee, social media, influencers, etc.
Hold pre-launch meetings with Marketing Coordinator and various departmental leads to brainstorm ideas for supporting efforts such as fan club activities, youth football initiatives, grassroots marketing events, Latino initiatives, cheer programs, Houston Texans Foundation events, etc.
Actively participate in the development of Club promotional initiatives until initiative’s conclusion (e.g., priority wait list, season kickoff initiatives, game schedule release) by developing concepts, brainstorming activation ideas, communicating effectively to the community, assisting the Marketing events staff with execution logistics and recapping.
Assist with the servicing of marketing needs of internal departments, including Ticketing, Houston Texans Foundation, Community Development, Premium Seating (Texans Luxe and Club Seats), Corporate Department, Digital and others.
Assist in booking marketing talent (HTC, TORO, etc.) for interviews and facilitating appearances on radio, network TV, cable, English/Spanish, etc. for promotional initiatives and building effective media relationships.
Collaborate on the brainstorming, organization, and execution of specialty gifts and experiences for Houston-area influencers.
Assist with hosting influencers as their main contact on Texans gamedays as well as on-field and concourse activities as needed.
Assist with promotion of regional marketing efforts, such as regional outreach trips, generating regional publicity, facilitating media appearances, community events, corporate partner obligations, etc.
Lead in the execution of the Puro Texans seasonal webseries and maintain www.SomosTexans.com with new and relevant content.
Assist in the creation of Female, Youth and Latino focused content to drive fan development.
Lead in the management of the Battle Red Ladies Facebook page as well as assist with other fan club content and communication.
Monitor the Traveling Texans Facebook page and provide input to the Traveling Texans fan team as needed for giveaways, special offers and away game event opportunities, etc.
Assist with brand monitoring, including use of the Club logo, copywriting, copyediting and proofreading any collateral or information distributed from the organization.
Assist in the recap efforts associated with campaigns and development of nominations for Club awards. Specifically, in the marketing, creative, gameday entertainment and community areas.
Assist in the review of all gameday signage, messaging, etc.
Provide guidance when needed in interactions with Marketing Events Intern, Promotions Intern and part-time event staff.
Perform various other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Senior Director of Marketing, Director of Marketing, Director of Community Development or Marketing Coordinator.
Position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.
Travel Requirements: Frequent local and occasional regional travel tied to promotional opportunities, special events and outreach program events sponsored by the Club and/or the National Football League.
