Summer intern will work with the Real-world Research team and focus on preparation/execution of study protocols and statistical analysis plans, literature reviews, data analysis and summary, and peer-reviewed scientific publication preparation

JANSSEN SCIENTIFIC AFFAIRS (JSA) Real World Evidence (RWE) Neuroscience Intern- Virtual
The Real-World Value & Evidence (RWV&E) organization ensures we obtain robust payer insights, deliver unrivaled value evidence, be payer-centric, execute timely real world data analytics, and develop flawless and impactful communication of the value of Janssen’s innovations for payers and society.
In this role, you could expect to be responsible for the following roles and responsibilities in support of Janssen Neuroscience products:

Contribute individually and/or as a team member to support activities related market access scientific strategy, evidence generation, and dissemination plans

Understand the pharmaceutical industry organization
-
Recognize the value and role of real-world evidence generation (e.g. health economic and outcomes research) in modern healthcare
-
Gain competency in review and analysis of scientific literature
-
Develop medical writing skills
-
Prepare and conduct presentations to internal stakeholders
-
Verbally communicate economic and clinical research findings to various cross-functional teams
-
Participate in observational research projects
-
Work within a team to identify and fill existing gaps in scientific evidence or business needs (See separate qualifications below for this neuroscience area)
Qualifications
-
Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Sciences or Public Health or related field
-
Display proficiency with statistical and mathematical packages such as SPSS, SAS, Python, R, MatLab, Stata
-
Skilled at programming in SQL
-
Microsoft Office, Word, Excel (including a high proficiency with generating pivot tables and graphs), and Power Point
-
Possess strong oral and written communication skills. Additional technical competencies in SharePoint and other information technology systems are highly desirable
-
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is strongly preferred
-
Familiar with study design in observational research and parametric/non-parametric statistical methods (eg, generalized linear models, Kaplan-Meier survival estimates).
Qualifications (Neuroscience Intern Role)

Have permanent work authorization in the US. We cannot consider students requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Commit to 10 – 12 weeks in the May – August 2021 timeframe.

Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer internship.

Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher, reflective of all college coursework.

Currently be enrolled in an accredited College/University, pursuing a BA/BS, MBA/Master’s or PHD degree (Not necessarily actively taking classes) Preferred fields are Life Sciences, Public Health, Health Services Research, Economics, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Data Sciences, or related fields.

Must not be a Freshman or a Senior graduating prior to program end date (Seniors must be willing/allowed to extend graduation date)
-
A passion for neuroscience therapeutic area is preferred.

While locations/facilities have been aligned to our Internships and Co-Ops positions, assignments could be virtual due to the uncertainties of COVID-19. Work location is flexible if approved by the Company except that position may not be performed remotely from Colorado.
