Journey to Your Promised Land, Inc. (JTYPL) is an international nonprofit 501©(3) tax exempted organization whose vision is to fight poverty throughout the world by:
1. Increasing access to educational resources to women and youth; 2. Promoting gender equality and awareness; 3. Increasing access to healthcare; and 4. Providing scholarships and/or grants to women and youth for educational or entrepreneurship purposes.
We are an emerging nonprofit looking for social entrepreneurs who are passionate about start-ups. We need ambitious and persistent individuals who want to tackling major social issues and offering new ideas for wide-scale change. Looking for Independent and out of the box thinkers – Those who find what is not working and solve the problem by changing the system, spreading the solution, and persuading entire societies to take new leaps.
We need a marketing/communications interns to help market and promote our programs.
JTYPL needs an energetic and savvy individual whose primary responsibility includes but not limited to the following:
1. Design outreach materials including program and event brochures, postcards and posters; 2. Develop and manage the social media feeds on facebook and twitter; 3. Develop marketing materials for the upcoming special fundraising events – and our annual fundraising event; 4. Drafts basic public relations materials such as news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, etc. 5. Assists in the implementation of special and media event planning activities; 6. Attends and participates in client meetings, media training, meetings, and brainstorming sessions with the board and advisory members; 7. Assists with administrative duties.
Qualifications Marketing background required Current college student majoring in marketing (at least a sophomore) Familiarity with social networking platforms Excellent written and verbal communication skills Availability to work remote. A highly motivated hard working individual Organized, reliable and a team player. Will give college credit if needed. Intern is required to meet with President & CEO weekly and must be located within the DMV (District, Maryland, and/ Virginia)
