Team and Role Overview
This new position on LGRA’s Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) pricing team will work with actuaries at all levels from recent hires to industry veterans.
Pricing PRT is an exciting, fast-paced role. Each transaction requires customized pricing. You’ll partner with 3-5 actuaries to analyze request for proposals (RFP) from de-risking pension plans, evaluate risks, model annuity liabilities, and efficiently forecast pricing and risk measures. LGRA uses proprietary actuarial software and mortality models. You’ll also calculate individual benefit quotations.
Candidates who succeed in the role quickly learn complex actuarial models, collaborate well in a fast-paced work environment, and diligently deliver timely analysis despite ambiguity and obstacles.
LGRA offers study time and financial support for Society of Actuaries examinations.
Examine RFP features to understand and properly model contractual guarantees
Prepare annuitant data for modelling, project expected asset and liability cash flows, evaluate risk and capital requirements, and forecast profit metrics
Develop, evaluate, and refine new pricing methods and assumptions and transaction structures
Work with L&G Global longevity team and mortality investigation models to recommend the appropriate mortality and demographic assumptions
Support risk analysis, compliance, and transaction installation with customized benefit quotes
Learn, use, and improve pricing software and assist in the team’s continuous improvement efforts
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative analysis field
Completion of 1-2 Society of Actuaries examinations and at least one actuarial internship preferred
Familiarity with pension benefits or payout annuity product designs
Facility and efficiency with Microsoft Excel’s data manipulation and analysis features
Strong collaboration skills with multiple teams in a matrixed environment
Proven ability to multi-task several responsibilities with time-sensitive external deliveries
