Must be a full time student in pursuit of a BA/BS Degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems and Decision Sciences or an MS/MBA with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems and Decision Sciences. The applicant must be a self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally; have the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of the organization; possess an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles based on GASB and FASB regulations. The candidate should possess a general knowledge and experience in the use of a personal computer and various software applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
The Accounting Intern will assist Accountant Managers with:
· Preparation of Financial Statements and other related reports.
· Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
· Data entry into financial accounting system and retirement management system.
· Record retention of Fiscal documents to include filing and imaging.
· Development of procedures and processes.
· Testing of new processes, procedures, and reports.
· Maintaining agency supply room inventory.
Miscellaneous other projects.
