At Houston Methodist, the Supply Chain Management Intern position is an opportunity to learn about Supply Chain in Healthcare in an experiential environment through working directly with Supply Chain leaders and preceptors from varying teams. In general, as a Supply Chain Management Intern, you can expect to:
· Develop an understanding of supply chain functions and operations within a Healthcare environment, including concepts, resources, inputs, conversion processes, constraints and outputs.
· Develop an understanding of the relationships among clinical and ancillary operations, finance, accounting, biomedical engineering, and supply chain.
· Develop the ability to formulate and analyze operations, problems, constraints and resource needs.
· Develop a basic understanding of the nature of supply chain functions and operations and supply chain roles and responsibilities.
