experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of IT Expert within our IT Sourcing & Supplier Management Team
based in Houston, TX.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a
desire for learning and continuous improvement. This position will collaborate
in the execution of the strategy for OXY IT spend categories including IT
hardware, Telecom, professional services, and software licensing. The IT Expert
will interface with IT staff and collaborate with key IT stakeholders to
understand and align business strategy, market dynamics, and supplier
capabilities, to develop negotiation strategies to reduce cost and minimize
risk. Success in this position will be dependent upon facilitating
collaborative stakeholder relationships, developing subject matter expertise in
the IT category, and managing enterprise-wide IT contracts.
Collaborate in developing and executing negotiation plans
that balance transaction cycle time, risk and supplier relationship.
Ability to influence stakeholders and manage conflicting

Responsible for contract: negotiations and renewals.
Execute strategies that are aimed at capturing value and
driving savings results.
Drive negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives.
Collaborate with IT staff and key stakeholders to identify
and align negotiating objectives.
Ability to present complex ideas/concepts and take a
consultative approach with stakeholders and peers.
Works with stakeholders to establish written detailed
performance or product specifications and requirements for complex transactions
that include supplier selection.
Uses formal solicitation procedures (RFPs/ RFIs) to solicit
and evaluate supplier responses (where applicable).
Resolves changes to standard terms, obtaining approval of
language when appropriate from IT leadership, Legal, and Risk Management when

suppliers and market experts; identify and communicate new technologies and
solutions to key problems within the IT Category.
Maintain knowledge of internal policies (e.g. code of
ethics) or procedures to ensure behavior exhibited represents the highest level
of integrity, honesty, and transparency.
Bachelor’s degree in a business related field, JD preferred
1-3 years in IT strategic sourcing role
Outstanding technical skills (PC, Excel, Word, Access, basic
Demonstrated strong negotiation, communication, and
interpersonal skills required
