Job Description:PERKINS COIE LLP, an international law firm and the preeminent firm in the Pacific Northwest, is seeking a Transaction Analyst Intern to join the Business Group in its Seattle office. The ideal candidate is someone interested in going to law school or pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree. Interview and relocation costs will not be reimbursed. Qualified candidates will be required to take technical tests to determine if the firm’s proficiency standards are met. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume.DUTIES: This entry-level position will provide support to transactional attorneys, paralegals and LPAs. Specific duties include responsibility for miscellaneous tasks and special projects required using a variety of software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Adobe). Documents could include spreadsheets, charts, graphics, presentations, forms, PDF conversions/signature packets and closing sets. This position will check legal documents to ensure accuracy and consistency while proofreading documents according to the Business Practice Group’s proofreading guidelines. This position will also conduct internet research to verify information in documents, including using public and/or proprietary firm or client internet sites, maintain online databases of corporate documents for use in business transactions and compile executed agreements into finalized, bound versions post-closing of a transaction. This position will also prepare outgoing mail for prompt delivery, arranging for messenger services as needed to meet deadlines and perform copying/scanning tasks and prepare notebooks as required.PREFERRED: Ideal candidates are preferred to have a strong understanding of (and interest in) the legal or business industry, including an understanding of corporate and transactional terminology and processes and financial information.REQUIRED: Requires BS/BA degree . Prior experience in a law firm, accounting firm, financial institution or other professional services firm environment is strongly preferred but not required. The candidate will be required to have proficiency with standard database, word processing and presentation applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote), with the ability to design and perform complicated analysis, develop reports, produce documents; and create tables, graphs, and charts. Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to express oneself effectively and excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling are required. This position also requires attention to detail with excellent analytical, organizational, proofreading and quality control skills, the ability to work effectively in teams and independently, with limited direction on complex tasks, the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple, simultaneous deadlines in a fast-paced environment, the ability to learn new skills quickly and the ability to organize and track legal documents.
