POSITION SUMMARY: PERMA-PIPE International Holdings is a global engineered pipe services company offering core competencies in anti-corrosion coatings, insulation solutions, containment systems, leak detection systems, engineering support, field services, and custom fabrication. For more information, visit www.permapipe.com. We are seeking a Human Resources intern to work in our Spring, Texas office up to 20 hours per week during Fall semester 2021. Work is expected to be performed onsite but hours are flexible (between 8am-5pm Monday through Friday).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Partners with Talent Management Director and HR Shared Services Manager to work on corporate strategic projects that enhance our talent management and HR data analytics functions.
- Performs other duties/ projects as assigned or as required by the position.
- Works with Chief Human Resources Officer, Talent Management Director, HR Shared Services Manager and others within the PERMA-PIPE corporate office as necessary.
- Reports to Talent Management Director.
Must have legal authorization to work in the US currently and in the future. Must also be able to demonstrate proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
EDUCATION: Full or part time undergraduate students currently enrolled in Human Resources Management program who have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours and minimum 3.0 GPA.
EXPERIENCE: Professional experience in HR or business is desired but not required.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: Strong customer orientation, attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, computer proficiency including Excel and powerpoint, works well in a team environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: Not applicable.
TRAVEL: Not applicable.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator, telephone, photocopier, and other office equipment as the job requires.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires manual agility sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax, calculator, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
MENTAL DEMANDS: Must handle diverse work problems on a daily basis. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. Must relate and interact with people at all levels in the Company.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a typical office setting, Monday through Friday, onsite at our corporate office in Spring, Texas.
