Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Venture Capital Associate Intern to our location in California.
The Venture Capital Associate Intern is responsible for assisting the Venture team with sourcing and providing diligence on new, early stage investments. This may include attending meetings with founders and entrepreneurs, building financial statements for diligence, writing up summaries on market areas and providing support to other team members in general diligence. This position will provide assistance to professional staff in all facets of analysis and assessment of potential venture capital investments.
The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Assists as directed with the development of financial models relating to financings, restructurings, valuation analyses and liquidity events
Assists as directed with performing due diligence such as customer and management references, market sizing and mapping, and industry research, competitive analysis and ultimately forming a viewpoint on the investment opportunity.
Assists as directed with crafting investment memoranda and presentation materials for the partnership, to include developing and refining presentation themes, data gathering and synthesis, and constructing professional presentation materials.
Works with portfolio companies to enhance operations and performance, report on portfolio company’s performance and supporting them on ad hoc projects.
Assists with creating processes and infrastructures to help our venture process scale.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Study toward, or completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical major that may be complemented by an MBA or PhD from a well-regarded institution.
Helpful if candidate has entrepreneurial experience in launching or working for a tech start up; or some experience gained from functional and industry experience in strategy consulting, healthcare investment banking, venture capital, corporate innovation, technology incubators, or health care startups.
