Corporate Strategy & Development
Corporate Strategy & Development (CS&D) is responsible for shaping the future strategic direction of the company. The group continually assesses the current Raytheon Technologies (RTX) portfolio, identifies core and adjacent market opportunities, evaluates potential acquisition targets, and executes large scale M&A transactions. CS&D reports directly to Raytheon Technologies’ CEO, and the team serves as an advisor to RTX leadership on strategic opportunities, challenges, and transformational M&A.
MBA Interns are an integral part of the CS&D team, and support active strategic projects and transactions during their time in the group. Past interns have been given self-directed strategy analyses and have presented their findings to senior management. Interns will have an assigned mentor, typically a past MBA Intern. Specific responsibilities may include:
Analyzing market opportunities and competitive dynamics
Evaluating potential acquisition targets (including valuation, structuring and actionability)
Developing presentations for Raytheon Technologies leadership and the Board of Directors
Supporting active M&A transactions
All CS&D team members are also expected to:
Monitor competitive dynamics and M&A activity in RTX end markets and among corporate and business unit peers
Build productive relationships with RTX business units to understand their businesses and strategic objectives
Strong business judgment, critical thinking and analytical skills
Ability to take ownership of assigned projects, handle ambiguity and independently drive for results
Ability to understand financial statements and construct discounted cash flow models (whether from prior work experience, MBA coursework, or self-study)
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated experience building credibility and respect across functions and organizational levels
Prior strategy work (at a top-tier consulting firm or in a corporate strategy role) or transactional experience (at an investment bank or in a corporate development role) is a plus, but not required
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
