Role and Responsibilities

This summer you will have the exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the fast paced tech industry. As a member of the strategy team, you will help solve a critical business need utilizing your problem solving skills, analytical skills and intellectual capacity. Through this internship, you will get a solid understanding of Samsung’s key businesses as the Strategy team supports all Consumer Electronics lines of business, addressing topics at the top of senior management agendas.

The intern’s main priority, will be to work on a project of strategic importance to Executive Management. In the past, projects have included:

  • Sizing Samsung market opportunities for new enterprise markets such as retail and government

  • Determining Samsung’s go to market approach for new consumer gaming segment

  • Developing new Omni channel retail organization strategies

Projects usually focus on developing a key scenario plan around issues of importance to the business. The scenario plan will analyze a situation, identify strategic considerations and risks to the business, and will identify actions Samsung should take to maintain its leadership position in the face of this situation. In developing this plan, the intern will be expected to work with executives as well as a broad cross section of stakeholders which will definitely include Product Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance. The intern will be expected to present his/her findings to these stakeholders and build consensus around their analysis and conclusions.

  • Intern will be expected to work with the Market Intelligence team to synthesize and analyze key retail industry trends and provide insights to executive leadership on both SEA and competitor market share performance.

  • To immerse in to the Samsung culture, the intern will work collaboratively with members across SEA to both participate in and organize team building events and activities.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing MBA

  • Critical problem solving skills with ability to work in ambiguous environments and form independent judgments

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders

  • Project management skills

  • Attuned to a teamwork environment, fast-paced rhythm, and a result-oriented culture

  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze research data

  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office is required with an emphasis on quantitative analysis (Excel) and the creation of presentations (PowerPoint)

Internship Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited University

  • Maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA

  • Provide proper work authorization to University Relations
