This Summer Internship is:
May-August, 12 weeks
In Dallas, Texas at our Headquarters Building
Full-time, 40hrs a week M-F during normal business hours
Workplace flexibility depends on the Team – we expect the Intern’s schedule of onsite/remote work to mirror that of their Team. The majority of roles will allow for occasional remote work.
Interns will receive any needed equipment, such as a laptop, for the internship as well as a living stipend and internet stipend paid out one time on your first paycheck (less applicable taxes).
The SWA Quality Team is responsible for ensuring that the training content & delivery for SWA Employees & Contractors meets the minimum requirements and required processes and procedures are followed, as documented in regulatory & Company manuals.
The intern will assist the team with a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
Conduct observations of training classes.
Collect and analyzing data and information effectively.
Prepare and maintaining audit data.
Analyze and provide audit results and present to Leadership and key stakeholders.
Being part of meetings with management to gain an understanding of certain business processes.
Utilize existing applications to record audit data.
Make process improvement recommendations based on experience and feedback.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Auditing, Safety Management, Data Collection, Data Analysis, or Program Management with an emphasis in Auditing required.
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours)
Maintained 3.0 or above cumulative GPA
Ability to research/understand operational requirements, policies and procedures
Ability to develop and present data & information (i.e. Pivot Tables, complex data analysis) with ability to produce reports (written, charts, graphs)
Familiarity with Quickbase and Tableau preferred
Ability to work with individuals in leadership positions inside and outside the Company
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail required
Demonstrates and maintains an extremely high regard for confidential, proprietary, and sensitive company information
Possess general PC skills and be able to use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Participation in industry related organizations and clubs preferred
Ability to stay organized and manage multiple and concurrent assignments
Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a Team
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines
Works well in a culture that is open, direct, respectful, courteous and compassionate
Quick learner, self-motivated, team oriented, with a sense of humor.
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Full-time, 40 hours/week. M-F during normal business hours.
$18.00 per hour + flight privileges
This internship is located in Dallas, Texas at the Southwest Airlines Headquarters TOPS building. Interns will be able to work a hybrid schedule that mirros their team.
