POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Physician Business Services Manager, the Financial Analyst will work with SH Information Systems, Patient Billing systems, SMF Finance Support Services Data Warehouse and Decision Support Applications, to support clinician, medical group, and Foundation activity reporting, clinician compensation plans and the medical group retirement plans.
Key responsibilities include: Prepare, validate, analyze and publish routine productivity reports, administer processing of 401(k) plans and physicians’ quarterly compensation reconciliations, provide monthly summary of findings (trends, improvement opportunities, and special situations effecting productivity) to department management, and ensure retirement plan guidelines are maintained, communicated, and participants’ enrollment in the 401(k) plans are processed accurately and timely. The Financial Analyst will track and provide resolution to issues and/or adhoc requests and effectively handle communication with clinicians, medical groups and SMF leadership.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or healthcare administration, or equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
· Experience: Three years of financial analysis experience required. Prefer experience in healthcare environment. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with on-going deadlines.
· Knowledge: Proficient with MS Access, Excel and other MS Office Suite programs; Crystal experience is a plus. Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills are required. Knowledge of physician services and billing practices desired.
· Special Skills/Equipment: The incumbent is required to have an understanding of computer applications, specifically workings with databases and complex spreadsheet operations. Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must also have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work with and communicate with all levels of management within the Sutter system. Must deal appropriately with confidential information and have a high-level of attention to accuracy and details. Ability to handle shifting priorities and multiple projects independently and with personal initiative is important, as is the ability to work as part of a team. Must have sufficient experience to participate in process improvements and identify areas to make more efficient. Demonstrates a clear understanding of, and consistently adheres to department and facility policies and procedures.
