About The Job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor, Inventory Accounting to join our Merchandise Accounting team. This individual will perform monthly accounting tasks necessary to record and update the Company’s accounting records and supervise a staff of three.
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports
Manage and co-ordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end close responsibilities to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial results
Prepare various reports to be distributed to departmental management
Assist management and various internal customers with their understanding of internal financial statements and other general questions
Manage projects geared towards process improvement, and identify opportunities towards automation
Participate in quarterly, interim, and year-end audits, including preparing supporting materials
Partner with internal auditors to ensure that internal controls are in compliance with management controls
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from a four year accredited university in Accounting
5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, Supervisory Experience
Working knowledge of an ERP system required, preferably PeopleSoft
Thorough understanding of accounting rules under US GAAP
Demonstrated ability to adhere to standard operating procedures, metrics, and regulatory compliance
Skilled in developing and using collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals, and developing individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others’ efforts
Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook
Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands
Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
Hours regularly 40 hours per week
