I. Overview of Teach Plus
Teach Plus is dedicated to the mission of empowering excellent, experienced, and diverse teachers to take leadership over key policy and practice issues that advance equity, opportunity, and student success. II. Internship Description
The Teach Plus communications team manages a portfolio of communications tools to maximize positive visibility of Teach Plus and Teach Plus teacher leaders. The Teach Plus website, teachplus.org, is an integral part of this effort. With an average 25,000+ monthly visitors, teachplus.org acts as an information and community hub, offering details of Teach Plus programs, bios of Teach Plus teacher leaders, news and media, and much more, to our audience of educators, policy makers, influencers, and funders.
The Web Content and Management Intern will work directly with the Design and Digital Media Manager to integrate Teach Plus teacher leaders’ bios and headshots on the site. The intern will also provide general website support to reflect the most current content.
Specifically, the Web Content and Management intern will:
- Update new and existing staff and teacher bios on the website
- Perform photo editing (i.e. resizing and cropping)
- Track newly added webpages for future site migration
- Work with the communications team to audit and refresh content on specific pages
- Assist with other website updates, as needed
- Basic understanding of website management, Drupal experience, a plus
- Experience working with Photoshop
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively
III. Term and Hours
This is a part-time internship with a commitment of 4-5 hours per week. The internship will start immediately and will continue for approximately 6 weeks. This internship is remote and can be conducted from anywhere in the U.S.
A $500 stipend which will be paid upon completion of the internship.
