Financial markets are constantly changing and the skills required to succeed are no exception. Quantitative trading is a far reaching term which ranges from researching and programming advanced algorithms to operate in extremely competitive market places and extends to applying financial modelling techniques to make the best trading decisionsOn trading desks, traders are expected to blend understanding of models with an informed view of the marketplace, often using automated algorithms to make trades. On more analysis focused desks, analysts are expected to work with trading desks to build solutions to client demands, working on projects from idea inception & solution design, through to implementation. These desks can be working with algorithms used for agency trading by clients or principal trading desks involved in trading with clients using an internal trading book. Quantitative trading makes use of many fields including statistics, financial modeling, computer science, and machine learning.
Interns on the quantitative trading program will assist in building models used for trading, and evaluating and improving existing models to adapt to every changing market conditions. Interns will learn about and work with key concepts in trading such as risk management, market impact, market making, and market signals. Interns will have a hands on project using the latest tools in the industry to address real business issues.
