Internship Program Coordinator II
The Internship Program Coordinator II will report to the Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships and works closely with internal stakeholders to help define and execute the overall intern experience from beginning to end. Coordinates and manages all intern and extern programs and initiatives, Plans recruiting, promotional events and activities as related to student internship opportunities. Serves as the point of contact and will liaise with internal partners from the four colleges and the Office of Career Services.
Manages the entire intern program experience including Cooperative Education.
Assists with organizing intern program strategy with the four college internship contacts while driving program strategy on a universal scale and executes creative solutions with the strategic partnership team, the university and external stakeholders.
Assists with managing partnerships with internal teams and vendors to facilitate all program elements including but not limited to: academic requirements, performance management, new Intern orientation, Internship fairs, events, training, and readiness. Leads Intern projects and executes Internship events, including partnering with the Office of Career Services on implementing Internship fairs.
Works with internal and external stakeholders and OSP to propose grants for internship funding for possible stipends and/or paid internships for student apprentices. Serves as Principle Investigator for the Texas General Land Office Grant.
Leverages data and analytics to improve the internship process.
Provides walk-in hours for students in the Office of Career Services. Responds to student referrals from campus partners such as the four colleges and Office of Career Services and performs all other duties as assigned.
1. Bachelor’s degree in related field.
2. Progressive experience in program coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
3. Knowledge of internship programs as well as counseling and case management skills.
4. Knowledge of working with organizations external to higher education.
5. Ability to be collaborative, resourceful and flexible.
6. Ability to participate in career fairs, orientations, and other events as needed to promote awareness of internship programs available to students.
Master’s degree in education, business or related field.
Progressive experience in higher education internship program coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
