As an integral member of the deal team with Varian’s Strategy & Business Development group, you will support due diligence of potential acquisition and investment targets, conduct industry research on innovative cancer treatment technologies, and help shape Varian’s future corporate strategy. In this role, you will participate in several aspects of an acquisition or investment transaction, including financial analysis and modeling, deal structuring, and legal/IP consideration.
Responsibilities:

Support screening, evaluation, and due diligence on M&A and investment opportunities, including early-stage venture capital, product development partnerships, and structured transactions

Distill and communicate actionable data-driven recommendations, including exposure to the Varian C-suite

Analyze market segments for opportunities and report to senior leadership on recommendations to pursue

Perform financial analyses and modeling
Desired Qualifications:

Candidates currently enrolled in an MBA program

Preferred 3-6 years of work experience in healthcare investment banking, management consulting, venture capital investing, private equity investing, product marketing, or R&D of an operating company

Demonstrated ability to create complex financial models with understanding of core finance and accounting principles

Demonstrated ability to conduct market analysis and competitive landscaping with the ability to translate the results into effective communication tools (presentations, pitches, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and multitask while maintaining attention to detail

Strong project management and communication skills
