Job Description
Vego Garden is looking for a highly adaptable, team-centric, and organized Accounts Payable Accountant who can use their experience and expertise in accounting to support our fast-growing company. The Accounts Payable Accountant manages the daily AP accounting activities at Vego Garden accurately and quickly. They also ensure records kept are compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This is a full-time position based out of Houston, TX and the duties for this role include but are not limited to:
- Daily Invoice Bookkeeping – Periodically processing and recording AP and purchase related transactions and maintaining vendor profiles in an ERP system (Oracle NetSuite)
- Bank Payment Management – Making bank payments based on payment reports and generating periodic payment plans based on different due dates for managers to review
- Monthly credit card management and recording the transactions accordingly
Expenses and cash flow analysis – Generate weekly expenses and cash flow analysis reports to monitor the expenses and cash flow levels - Assisting tax advisors to prepare annual 1099 tax filings
- Assisting the accounting manager with monthly closing and other requests for financial analysis
- Managing routine inventory adjustments, and depreciation & amortization schedules
- Participating in the company’s financial planning and analysis projects
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is ambitious, flexible, and, organized with 1-2 years of professional accounting experience. The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in accounting and is either a CPA or is pursuing a CPA designation. Public accounting firm experience is a plus as is e-commerce working experience or project experience. They demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving skills and an aptitude for finding creative solutions. A drive to help the community develop through sustainable living and a passion for gardening is also appreciated. If the following describes you, you’d be perfect for the role:
- Master’s degree in accounting
- 1-2 years of professional accounting experience is preferred, new graduates are welcomed
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel formulas (Pivot Table, Vlookup and Sumifs etc.)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to speak and read Chinese fluently to collaborate with our branch office located in China
