Business Casual Attire
Business casual attire is less formal than business professional but still maintains a neat, polished appearance. It is commonly worn for on-campus events, employer info sessions, class presentations, and casual networking.
This style allows for more flexibility to incorporate brighter colors and subtle patterns while aiming for a refined look.
Common business casual items include:
- Slacks, chinos, or knee-length skirts
- Blouses, button-down shirts, or polo shirts
- Cardigans, sweaters, or casual blazers
- Closed-toe flats, loafers/oxfords, or low heels
- Belts and simple accessories (can be more expressive)
Avoid casual items such as jeans, shorts, sundresses, athletic wear, and sneakers. Aim for a clean, well-fitted, and intentional look.

Business Professional Attire
Business professional attire is more formal than business casual and typically expected for job interviews, career fairs, class presentations, and formal networking events.
This dress code emphasizes a clean, confident, and polished look, usually in neutral or dark colors. Common items include:
- Matching suit (jacket and pants or skirt)
- Dress shirts or blouses
- Ties (optional depending on setting)
- Closed-toe dress shoes (heels, flats, oxfords/loafers)
- Simple accessories and belts
Hair should be neatly styled, and overall grooming should support a professional, put-together appearance. Avoid overly bright colors, flashy accessories, and casual items like sneakers.
