Job Summary:
The Investment Operations Associate will be the primary equity and corporate bond trader within the firm. The ideal candidate should possess self-motivation, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and both team and independent work capabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execution of Orders: Managing the process of buying and selling equity and mutual fund orders as directed.
- Block Trading: Dealing with large-scale trades and handling any issues or discrepancies that arise prior to trade settlement.
- Fixed Income Securities: Buying/selling various fixed income securities like CDs, treasuries, municipal and corporate bonds. Responsible for bond allocation to client’s accounts.
- Bond Management: Monitoring the maturity of bonds and re-investing cash.
- Cash Management: Monitoring and managing cash balances within accounts, raising cash when necessary for distributions.
- Model and Account Maintenance: Keeping investment models up to date and maintaining restrictions or guidelines for accounts and securities.
- Account Rebalancing: Periodically adjusting the composition of investment accounts to align with the intended strategies, ensuring a balanced portfolio.
- Reporting: Generating different types of reports on a regular basis for audits, involving daily, weekly, and yearly data. Oversees data gathering for our annual GIPS verification audit.
- Security Maintenance: Maintaining a security’s description name and asset category/class.
- Proxy/Corporate Actions: Overseeing activities related to proxy voting and any corporate actions impacting investments.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluating and refining trading workflows and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support Role: Providing assistance to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in various projects and reporting to the Director of Operations on specific maters related to the role.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a relevant industry role; no certifications or licenses required.
- Technical Skills: Competency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel; VBA experience is a plus.
- Systems Knowledge: Preferred experience with Orion Advisor Solutions, Salesforce CRM, iRebal Porfolio Rebalancing, and Charles Schwab custodial platform.
