The Supply Chain Business Intelligence Analyst will report to the SCM Manager (Business Intelligence), serving as the lead for Supply Chain Analytics for Patterson-UTI Energy Companies. The Supply Chain Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for working with internal data and external Market Intelligence to derive impactful business insights, predictive analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) training for systems and users, and development of reporting and dashboards to empower stakeholders in leveraging data. They will also provide technical support to end users across the organization, answering technical questions regarding the software, need, and methodologies. The Business Intelligence Analyst will design and implement automation protocols for reports and analysis, in conjunction with internal IT resources.
Detailed Description:
- Serve as a key point of contact on data utilization of SCM systems, the ERP (Oracle), various interfacing systems in logistics, warehouse, supplier, and risk management, and procure-to-pay.
- Develop dashboards, reports, lists, and statistical analyses utilizing a variety of tools including Coupa Analytics module, MS Excel (including pivot tables, macros, statistical add-ons), Python applications, and visualization and integration (Tableau or Power BI).
- Work closely with the company IT department and software vendors to assist with troubleshooting and system modifications.
- Support process improvements and software changes as needed.
- Compile and aggregate data from the Coupa system and other sources to build scorecards and support the achievement of established business objectives, meaningful KPI’s and status reports actionable by business units.
- Collaborate with team members for the purpose of collecting data and executing the company’s mission
- Analyze business requirements and processes and recommending them to the management and executives for implementation.
- Serve the organization as the hub of the wheel, bridging between functions and business units to increase information velocity and be a super-synapse on the company communication map.
- Above all- the role requires a focus on practical results- the ability to distill the digital noise from the truly impactful- and then convey the decision points and influence that the information can have for business leaders.
- Any other reporting or assistance needed by the Procurement Supervisor/Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-Year College Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Decision Science, Supply Chain, or Business (MIS, Analytics), or related field.
- 2+ years’ experience of Database management with a solid understanding of database structures and relationships. experience using.
- 2+ years’ using designer tools to create or modify reports with the understanding of queries, filters, and data views. Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel charts and graphs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Applications.
- Strong experience with statistical and data visualization software (MS Excel and stats add-ons, Tableau, Power BI).
- Mathematical acumen required to code complex formulae in MS Excel or Python; strong knowledge of MS Excel Functions and ability to create multi-sheet pivot tables in MS Excel, as well as Macros for data aggregation and automation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Python familiarity.
- Familiarity with Gen-AI applications, and how to train them.
Additional Details:
The Supply Chain Analyst must work with an emphasis on individual safety and safety for others, including coworkers and third parties. Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with occasional visits to the field, minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
