About The Role
The Manager of Tax, Billings & Collections will play a key role within the finance organization to centralize all related activities. You will lead and grow a team to scale and automate daily operations and collection activities and support strategic initiatives across the organization. In addition will help both internal and external clients understand the tax implications of their purchases while managing the impact tax has on their business. You’ll also help business units understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as provide advice on the tax implications of deals. This role will report to the CFO.
Responsibilities
- Develop a framework and administer policies to improve collections and consistently achieve or exceed collections goals.
- Help the business with tax strategy, serving as the company’s liaison with external tax experts to appropriately manage sales and use tax exemptions. Identify and claim all applicable tax exemptions, minimizing the company’s tax liability.
- Implement and maintain a robust system for tax exemption certificate management, ensuring all certificates are current, accurate, and readily available.
- Proactively monitor certificate expiration dates and coordinate renewals to prevent disruptions and potential tax liabilities.
- Embed the needs of Tax into Finance and IT systems to increase automation and data quality throughout tax processes.
- Oversight and management of day-to-day operations and global team of billing and collections.
- Lead billing team to ensure timely and accurate billing.
- Provide business tax solutions to meet complex demands for tax reporting, compliance and planning, and tax policy and controversy.
- Assist financial team in developing world class tax functions.
- Lead initiative to implement new billing templates and systems and related collections efforts.
- Establishment and enforcement of enhanced credit policy that mitigates company risk and ownership of deliverables to complete and accurate internal and external audits.
- Ownership and presentation of monthly and quarterly accounting close materials (AR reconciliation, AR Aging trends, Allowance for Doubtful Accounts)
- Manage billing and collections escalations from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner while upholding and maintaining the company’s interests.
- Routine engagement with leadership to provide visibility into key metrics and related trends.
- Analyze billing and collection data to identify trends and opportunities to inform data-driven decisions and initiatives.
- Partner with FP&A and Treasury to develop accurate collections targets.
- Lead initiative to create an inventory of current state billing and collections processes.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to decrease DSO while maintaining a
- Provide thoughtful leadership to drive end-to-end accounts receivable initiatives and enhancements.
- Represent the interests of billing and collections in cross-functional projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Tax, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years post-bachelors, progressive experience; OR a master’s degree in accounting, Tax, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, plus 4 years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience in collections and billing in enterprise SaaS.
- Knowledge and experience with financial system applications.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work assignments.
- Tax/ finance performance improvement.
- Experience designing and implementing tax function operating models.
- Embedding tax requirements into financial/business systems and processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with minimal direction.
- Proven track record of leading successful billing and collections teams
- Strong communication skills are a must – the ability to understand and articulate existing challenges and obtain buy-in from stakeholders to drive toward a solution.
- Understanding of month-end close, GAAP, SOX, and audit concepts and requirements required.

This is Hybrid Role, and you will be based Onsite 4 Days Week in our beautiful NYC Corporate Headquarters.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in FP&A or a related field.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic financial plans.
- Expertise in financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
