General Description
The Summer Associate will have an opportunity to work in the Quality department at EDP Renewables.
This is a 10-week full-time and paid internship that will start around June 2024, with an end date of August 2024.
Main Accountabilities:
- Be an advocate for Health, Safety and Quality, driving a strong and committed safety and quality culture throughout the organization
- Garner hands-on experience through relevant projects and assignments
- Champion use of Quality Event Reporting system and review quality cases and improvement suggestions
- Contribute to the improvement of the Generation Quality Program by analyzing turbine and solar performance data and communicating with site personnel and subject matter experts
- Digital checklist revisions and provide troubleshooting help with technicians
- Contribute to the development and publication of Quality standard operating procedures
- Bring a creative and optimistic attitude to the world of renewable energy
- Participate in Summer Intern events and volunteerism
- Learn about the U.S. energy industry and apply knowledge to various projects
- Attend weekly ‘lunch and learn’ department presentation meetings
- Provide support to designated department and departmental managers
- Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to present results of efforts
- Assist in administrative tasks as needed
- Additional duties may be required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be in the junior or senior year of undergraduate study or currently pursuing a graduate degree
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- 0-2 of relevant experience
- Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products preferred.
- Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
- Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment

- Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
