The Supply Chain Intern from the University of Houston’s Bauer Business and Supply Chain School (active or recent former) is responsible for executing professional tasks associated with analyzing, mapping, assessing, and deploying lean processes throughout the business organization. With a profound emphasis on resource optimization, encompassing both human capital and technological assets, the SCI relies on foundational expertise in lean process control to meticulously document existing processes and proactively seek enhancements in each operational domain under their purview. Operating as Transformational Supply Managers (TSMs), these individuals function as catalysts for change, collaborating closely with the lead change management consultant to facilitate seamless deployments or modifications to prevailing practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify operational inefficiencies and formulate actionable recommendations aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, and elevating customer satisfaction within the realms of Operations and Logistics.
- Collaborate with colleagues across various engineering disciplines, management tiers, and ownership levels to devise comprehensive project specifications.
- Provide support in executing supply chain enhancement endeavors, encompassing areas such as inventory management, demand forecasting, and order fulfillment.
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data to evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor the progression of supply chain initiatives.
- Cultivate productive relationships with personnel and management to streamline the implementation of process changes.
- Actively participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions centered on supply chain management and process refinement.
- Leverage analytical tools to develop data-driven solutions and construct financial and operational models to tackle intricate challenges.
- Generate Value Analysis (VA) reports to underpin the business transformations in which you are actively involved.
